35 Mescals In Cuautla guitar duo
Written in 1998. The title was taken from a tragic poem by the English author Malcolm Lowry, living in Mexico. When writing his famous novel ‘Under the Volcano’. Mescal is a very strong Mexican liquor, and 35 mescals is enough to be completely knocked out. For Malcom Lowry however, drinking large quantities of mescal was a daily routine. As a composer I am interested in trying to write music that can be as hallucinating as mescal, though in a less damaging way.
